JuNk ShoPPing 2/25

So I'm thinking I might need to clarify what Junk Shopping is to me. It's anything that isn't a necessity; anything that's fun, pretty or cute. When you're on a hunt for projects or adventure, or both, or when you want a good date with a friend and need an excuse. It can be done at any retail store, antique store, thrift shop, yard sale or any where you can find good stuff and a great deal. I had so much fun Junk Shopping this week. I went with my friend again and we hit lots of stores. Here's What I GOT........

K, these are not mine... Melissa got them for here built-ins. We are going to redo them and oh do we have Big plans. Hopfuly I will be showing them to you next week.

I am kinda having a lamp obsession right now. This is the 3rd one I've bought in 3 weeks. I just keep finding really cute lamps, I can't help it.

I found a new knob at Hobby Lobby. I fell in love when I saw this little beauty. This is going on this............

Ha!
Isn't this FuNNy! I would have totally done something like this 10 years ago. Even the same picture but hopefully I would have done a little better job. hee hee. I love it and when it warms up I'll show you what I'm doing with it.

And lastly I'm taking a quilting class. I really don't sew. I have tried so many times and it always ends in tears, but I am giving it one more try.
I found this super cute charm pack. I love this! I might use this same fabric (but in gray) to make pillows for my front room.

And this is what I didn't get......

I really wish I would have bought this. It was only $12.00 and I keep thinking of great things to do with it. Oh well.

I LOvE cowboys!

I have redone these before and they turn out really cute.

I even like ugly owls.

I thought this would be cute to hang from the ceiling with ribbon and with candles in it of course.

Cute! Need I say more?

I always love a good piece of furniture.

I have so many things to paint right now. It's driving me crazy. Why won't it warm up?????
So I just keep shopping. hee hee

So here are a few tips for Junk Shopping.

If you are going to Saver's take a bag of donations with you. They will give you a 20% off your entire purchase coupon. That can add up if you're buying furniture. Just check with you local store first, one of our stores only does it on Tuesdays and the other does it every day.

The best place (I have found) to buy knobs is Hobby Lobby. Knobs can really make or break a great redo.
They had a few new ones this time.

I actually went to get this one in blue but found a cute white one instead.

So CuTE!

As you can see they have a great section of knobs and hooks.

And they go on sale all the time. Just wait and you can get some great deals.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you
                                 EnJoYed shopping with us!

The LoVe in cRaftiNg

This is my favorite necklace right now. I love LoVe love it and I love that it's a hand made gift from my good friend.I really do wear it like 5 days a week. My cute friend, Heidi makes them. You can check it out @ chickhardware.blogspot.com

This isn't my exact one but you get the ideaI totally stole this photo off her blog.

So, Baby Drama (my littlest sister) came for a visit and we went to one of Heidi's jewelry parties where she got a couple pairs of  great earrings.
Then she wanted to make some of her own before she had to go home ...........so we did!
I want her to come back so bad. hint hint

Here they are:

Baby Drama, Sis (my other little sister), Shady (my niece) and Goose (my oldest daughter) all sat around the table and talked while we made these.
I didn't get any pitchers of it dang it.
This is one of my FaVoriTe things about crafting, the memories we make while doing it.

Easiest CRAFT Ever ........if you can even call it a craft

I was with one of my friends a couple days ago and she had these super cute magnets that she got form a Favorite Things Party. Then I realized that I had those same cute buttons at home (I think I got them at Wally World or Hobby Lobby). I use them as centers in my fabric flowers. Because I had everything, I thought I needed to make some. It was DeSTinY. Hee hee. Here's how you DIY.

You will NEED:
                                              1. Super cute buttons
                                              2. Magnets (I like mighty magnet but any will work)
                                              3. E-6000

Cut the eye off the back of the button.

I use my BIG wire cutters.

Just add a little blob of E-6000 to the back of the button and let it sit for like 15 to 20 minutes to get a little tacky. Place your magnet over the glue and let dry. I know, way too easy right.

Then if you're feeling a little frisky you could paint them.

I just painted them with a little tole paint and then wiped some of the paint off.

I think they are So CuTE.

Coconut Waffles

These are soooooo GOOD!

Last week my sister and I were at the health food store and we found a sweetener called Coconut Necture. Then I found this and thought it sound pretty good.
I don't love it by itself  but I don't like milk by itself either.

If you're going to grind your own wheat,
you can grind a whole bag of flour and just through it in the freezer; then it won't go bad.

We have been on a waffle kick and I thought it would be fun to try a coconut waffle. So I took my two favorite recipes and adjusted them to this:

Waffles
4 eggs separated
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T.  sugar
1 cup coconut milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 t. melted butter
1 cup whole grain wheat flour

In a large bowl combine yolks, sugar and salt. Beat until thick. Blend in cocnut milk, vanilla and butter. Add flour and beat for about 1 minute. Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold in the batter. Cook accordingly.

Coconut Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cube butter
1 cup coconut milk
1 T. coconut necture
1 T. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

In a large pot melt butter and coconut milk, sugar, coconut necture and vanilla. Bring to a boil and sprinkle baking soda over it. It will foam - continue cooking of about 3 more minutes.
My family loves these.

Top it off with strawberries and pineapples and EnJoy!
